On October 9, the 5th and 6th graders went on a field trip to the 3 mile long Nissan Plant of Canton, Ms.

The classes went to be guided around the plant and shown how the cars are put together.

The fifth grade wanted to go on this trip last year, but were not able to.

Gates Welch, sixth grader, said, “my favorite part was the robots, they were riding all around the floors and communicating with the other robots with music over the intercom.”

“The new 2019 cars were coming out of the machines and coming off production in the middle of being made. It was very advanced. I did not think that it would be that huge,” Mac Stacey, fifth grade.

According to their website, more than 4 million vehicles have rolled off the line at Nissan-Canton. Here’s to 4 million more.

Nissan has transformed Mississippi into a hub for world-class automotive manufacturing, creating more than 6,500 jobs for team members and more than 25,000 direct and indirect jobs statewide.
